About King Charles III

The longest wait on the ascension to the throne of the British monarch in history is that of Prince Charles (Queen Elizabeth II reigned from 1953 to 2022). He was born on November 14th, 1948, to shoulder immense responsibilities in a world he was yet to understand as a child. The first realization of this responsibility was made known to him at age three when he lost his grandfather, King George VI, and his mother became the Queen and oversaw the affairs of the many colonies that would transform into the commonwealth nations.

King Charles III has been preparing for the throne for seven decades and became the King as a Septuagint. He’s was a life of wait – a very long wait. But the public image of the King had been scarred by his lifestyle, the blemishes he wields as a man, which is his life of infidelity, and the case of his deceased wife, Princess Diana, who had mentioned in an interview with BBC that they were three in the relationship. “There are three of us in this relationship,” she said, recounting the infidelity of the Prince.

The scars that blemish the image of King Charles III have left many people talking and asking questions. There has been a series of doubts about the lifestyle exuded by the King as a Prince. This was made relevant when critics suggested that he may have forfeited his royalty and that it would be absolutely fine if the monarchy leaves out a generation. This was aimed at presenting the King’s son, Prince William, to the public as a more responsible royalty.

The stained hems of the King as a Prince were muddy; this led to the advertent decline of his fans. In the mid-90s, it backslid to a little above 40%. He was not very much revered as he ought to be. Nevertheless, when he realised the mess he was into, he re-strategized and started working on himself, his prestige, public view, and royal roles.

The King is a well-known philanthropist. He found several philanthropic institutions and is either the president or patron of charity institutions scattered all over, totaling over 400 in number. He also made many amends as he ventured into a role he found himself. He has represented his late mother, the Queen, on many occasions; the Queen was becoming weaker as she advanced in age, and his role became clearer.

On the 8th day of September 2022, the shady roles became vivid as he officially ascended the throne following the demise of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, in Buckingham Palace on her bed. He assumed every responsibility that comes with the privilege of being royalty. Prince Charles is now addressed as His Royal Majesty King Charles III – choosing his title was his first decision as the new King. He could have chosen from any of his four names – Charles Philip Arthur George.

What do critics say about the new King of Britain?

Critics have been asking, who would make a better monarch, the late Queen or the current King?

Following the longest rule of a monarch in British history, the late Queen amassed and commanded respect from all over the world. Seventy-five percent (75%) of the Britons loved the Queen following her ordeals and ruling pattern. Other critics have said that although the King’s rule is way shorter than that of his mother, he has long prepared for this new role more than any other person in British history and the world likely. Some opine that he would make a fine King – he would have to put into action the things he had long prepared.

When Will The Coronation Ceremony for King Charles be Held?

Prince Charles ascended the throne on Thursday, September 8, 2022, and was proclaimed King on Saturday, September 10, 2022. The proclamation took place at St James’s Palace (a Tudor royal residence near Buckingham Palace) in London in front of the Accession Council. This is the first of the formal ceremonies that would take place before the formal coronation of the King. For the first time in history, the more than 300 years old ritual was broadcast live. In his address to the Accession Council, King Charles III said –

“My mother gave an example of lifelong love and of selfless service. Even as we grieve, we give thanks for this most faithful life. I am deeply aware of this great inheritance and of the duties and heavy responsibilities of sovereignty which have now passed to me.”

The coronation of the King will not come right away as there are many formalities to his coronation. Queen Elizabeth’s coronation was coordinated one year and four months after her declaration as Queen. The process will take place at its usual place – Westminster Abbey. The date is currently a secret organised under the code name – Operation Golden Orb (CBS News). The coronation will likely hold in 2023. Whatever the case, King Charles III ascending the throne on September 8, 2022, marks the beginning of the third Carolean age and the end of the second Elizabethan Era.

Why Westminster Abbey?

Westminster Abbey has been the coronation place for the Britons for 900 years because King William the Conqueror got coordinated there.

Westminster Abbey has been Britain’s coronation church since 1066 (Westminster Abbey). All British monarchs (from William the Conqueror through Queed Elizabeth II) except two, have been crowned in the Abbey. The ceremony will follow the order laid down in the medieval illuminated manuscript, the Liber Regalis.

Edward V was presumed murdered in the Tower of London before he could be crowned, and Edward VIII abdicated 11 months after succeeding his father, so he was never crowned.
