About Santa Claus
Santa Claus is a legendary figure who is said to visit houses secretly on Christmas Eve to leave gifts for the children. It is believed that he travels the world in his sleigh drawn by Christmas reindeer.
Because Santa Claus is so popular, there is a high demand for a Santa Claus drawing tutorial. You asked for it, so we gave it to you.
How to Draw Santa Claus
Learn how to draw Santa Claus, one of the most famous and iconic figures in Christmas images. This is a step-by-step drawing lesson for beginners in art.
Step 1: Make a Perfect Circle in the Center of Your Upper Portion of Paper
There’s no need to be concerned if you can’t draw a perfect circle freehand! You can always use a compass, a drawing tool that allows you to quickly and easily draw a perfect circle.
Draw a horizontal and vertical line across the paper to create reference lines to ensure that the outline is correctly positioned in the middle. The circle should be drawn on the vertical line above the horizontal line.
Step 2: Draw Santa Claus’ Ears
Draw a halfway circle shape on each side of the face outline. This is the outline of Santa Claus’ ears.
Make sure the ears are all the same size and drawn at the same level. You can use reference lines on the face to ensure that the ears are aligned as well.
Step 3: Draw the Distinct Facial Features
Right above Santa Claus’ head, draw a Christmas hat, as shown in the illustration.
In the middle of the face, draw a curved line for the nose with a moustache right underneath. Then, at the bottom of his face, create a long, stubble beard by drawing continuous curved lines to make the beard look thick and fluffy.
Step 4: Then, Draw the Torso or the Upper Body
Draw Santa Claus’ upper body beneath the beard. Because Santa Claus is naturally on the beefier side, make the body chubby.
Step 5: Draw the Hem of the Jacket
Draw a rectangular outline following the edge of the clothing to create the hem of Santa Claus’s jacket.
Step 6: Draw the Legs of Santa Claus
For each leg, draw two diagonal lines that are leaning in the same direction. The legs should be wide at the top and narrow at the bottom.
Then, at the bottom of each leg, draw a cuff. Maintain leg alignment and proportion.
Step 7: Draw the Shoes Paired with a Belt
Make a wide belt in the center of your torso. Then, on each leg, draw the shoes underneath the cuff.
Step 8: Create Santa Claus’s Arms
Draw two upward diagonal lines on each side of the torso, with a cuff at the bottom, to make Santa Claus’ arms. Then draw the hands while wearing gloves beneath the cuff.
Santa Claus’ arms are both raised upwards, as shown in the illustration. You can draw the arms in the same position or position them however you want.
Step 9: Add Santa Claus’ Facial Features
Now that we’ve finished drawing Santa Claus’ entire body, it’s time to draw the facial features that will give Santa Claus’ face expression.
Begin by sketching the outline of his thick brows. Then, for the eyes, draw two small oval shapes right beneath the brows. Shade the eyes while leaving a small dot unaffected. To create a blushing effect, draw a sideways oval shape on each cheek.
The Santa Claus drawing is nearly finished, as you can see! The only thing it lacks is a splash of color to round out your design!
Finally, the most exciting part begins—filling in the colors for your fantastic drawing! This is the section where you can demonstrate your artistic abilities as well as your ability to mix and match various colors.
Santa Claus has snow-white hair, a moustache, and a beard. It is believed that the color of his hair is not due to his age, but rather to a lack of pigmentation, which causes it to be translucent. He also usually dresses in a red Christmas outfit adorned with white fur.
Feel free to color your Santa Claus drawing with whatever colors you want and watch it come to life! While you’re at it, why not experiment with different coloring materials like watercolor and brushes?
